October 8, 2007

Today was the beginning of a long day. We had our Mental Health class, which means that we sit for three hours watching a DVD lecture, which is directly off of the power points and from the book, which also means that I get good “list making” time! I organized my VAT purchase list for when I get to the Jo’burg airport, as well as made a list of the groceries I want my mom to have at the house for when I get home, and I made a list of the things I had to do for the night, and I wrote a rough draft of a letter! Very productive morning I’d say! After class we had three hours until our music class, so I went to the computer lab and took notes for the next two mental health classes and read the journal articles I had to read for class. Music class was from 3:00-5:00 and I was dreading it as usual, but it actually was a very pleasant class today! We learned about and listened to Protest Music, and it was very interesting! I stayed awake and I didn’t look at my watch every five minutes! When we were walking to the kombis after class there were monkeys swinging in the trees and running along the sidewalk! I don’t think I’ll ever get used to it, since it is so strange seeing animals I see at the zoo running wild and within reach! When we came back home, I spent the night on my computer doing homework and I got all caught up and ahead in my classes. Laura, Kasy, Leslie, Christy, and I all sat down together to plan our trip to Durban, it was successful and we agreed on travel dates and places we want to stay at and things we want to see and do!
