October 2, 2007

We started our morning with a wet and long Kombi ride to NMMU for our Public Health class. I am sick of the gloomy weather these last four days! Class was actually very pleasant today, although the topic was a little depressing (Bioterrorism and Disaster Preparedness) and we watched the first half of the movie Outbreak with Dustin Hoffman, Renee Russo, Kevin Spacey, Morgan Freeman, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Patrick Dempsey…quite the cast! After class, Carrie, Katherine, Ashley, and I went to Pick ‘n Pay for much needed groceries…however that was a huge disappointment because they didn’t have seven things on my list! There was no Coke Light, popcorn, mozzarella cheese, pretzels, chicken, green peppers, braeburn apples, granola, and eggs! What is up with that! Those are pretty basic things at a grocery store! Oh well, it just put me in a crabby mood and to top it off I went to take money out of the ATM and it said that I had insufficient funds, however I checked my banking things and I have plenty of money in there! Oh well, it was a good day to just come back and throw on a pair of sweatpants and a sweatshirt to just sit and write a paper. I spent literally the whole night writing a civil commitment paper on the process of involuntarily committing a mentally ill patient into an institution. I’m living the life! The highlight of my night was helping Erin brainstorm her Halloween costume for her last year at Madison! I also got to chat with Brooke online (finally), we have been playing message tag for the last few days it was nice talking to her and hearing about grad school and life in Lonsdale!
